Freischwinger Nr. 2

After Frederick Kiesler's autographed drawing for the apartment of Marguerita and Charles Mergentime.

Kiesler designed a total of six chairs for Mergentime's dining table. Several coverings are documented although isn't clear whether the actual chairs were designed along the same lines. A photograph shows a chair upholstered with cow hide. This kind of covering has been used amongst others by Le Corbusier, Serge Chermayeff and Russel Wright as decorative upholstery.
